Congratulations to the dynamic duo of Doug Fisher and Nancy Frey, this year's winners of the 2016 Adolescent Literacy Thought Leader Award. Their work has consistently blended research and practice, yielding rich insights which they have shared with all of us. Both have used their positions as educational leaders at Health Sciences Middle and High School and as professors of educational leadership at San Diego State University to conduct ongoing action research on how to best support adolescents to develop the literacies they need to be successful in school and in life. Doug and Nancy accepted the award at the Secondary Reading Interest Group session on Sunday July 10 at the ILA Conference in Boston. Then they presented their latest learning from their work and what they feel the field should be thinking about. You can see more of Doug and Nancy's work at www.fisherandfrey.com. Again, congratulations!
